Abu Dhabi and Dubai - Extended Version Part 2: First Day in Dubai

Directly changed to leave for the beach (around 11:30 a.m.). So we walked through the hottest Dubai you can imagine. Nobody leaves air-conditioned rooms around noon in Dubai just the two strange guys from Germany experiencing the beautiful harbour area around Port Rashid ;-)

After 1,5 hours we stopped – totally over heated – by Haägen Dasz to have some water. After recovering from the heat we realised the beach was just 10 minutes from this place. Now holidays started! Beach, palms, warm blue water of the Arabic Gulf. Perfect!

After finishing sunbathing we went through some smaller shopping malls to take a taxi to the Creek, a kind of river through a part of Dubai. After some nice Arabic dinner we took a river taxi for a one hour round trip. Wonderful to see Dubai skyline in the sunset (price bargained from 50 to 30 Dirham, not so bad…)

After a short walk over the old Souk (Dubai market) we found our way back to the hotel to have a shower and a short nap.
